Price of diesel fuel sinks to lowest so far in 2010

The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide fell 5.2 cents to $2.781 a gallon, matching the biggest drop in six months, according to US Department of Energy information. Trucking’s main fuel has retreated 9.8 cents in the past three weeks, and the decline put it 53.5 cents higher than the same week in 2009. While that decrease is well below the 15.3-cent increase of the previous three weeks, it left the most recent price at a 2010 low.
