Price of diesel fuel drops for fifth time in a row

The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide fell 1.3 cents to $2.756 a gallon, the fifth consecutive decline, according to US Department of Energy information. The price of trucking’s main fuel has retreated 12.3 cents in the past five weeks, and this drop left it 57 cents higher than the same week in 2009. While that decline is well below the 15.3-cent increase of the prior three weeks, it left the recent price at a 2010 low.
